“Once children enter our life, their impact is indelible and we are required to reinvent ourselves in response.”
~ Dr. Shefali Tsabary

Parenting is full of joy and challenges. Raising highly-sensitive kids and teens brings lots of ups and downs as these are the “Orchid” beings who feel everything quicker, stronger and longer. They have incredible gifts of being empathetic, creative, observant, intuitive and big feelers. They are also more prone to being overthinkers and developing anxiety.

As a highly sensitive person myself, I understand what it’s like to be an orchid versus a dandelion. My private practice focuses on supporting highly sensitive children, teens and their parents.

As a former teacher and school counsellor, Mom of two teens, and Registered Clinical Counsellor, I have over 27 years of valuable experience which I can draw upon to support your child and family.Ever since I was a teenager, I have loved working with kids and still do! As a highly sensitive person myself, I have a particular interest in supporting highly-sensitive kids and teens, as they have many gifts, but are often affected by anxiety and big feelings.

In British Columbia, being certified specifically as a Registered Clinical Counsellor ensures that you know I have obtained at least a Master’s graduate degree in counselling psychology with many hours of clinical training.

This is why most extended health plans only cover services provided by a Registered Psychologist or Registered Clinical Counsellor.

I obtained my Bachelor of Education from McGill University and my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from UBC. I also have many hours of post-graduate training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Play/Art/Sandplay Therapy.

I am also a Certified Parenting Facilitator from the Adler Centre and I am trained in Hypnotherapy, specifically Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT), by the world-renowned Marisa Peer.

I believe parenting involves a heart-and-mind approach. We need our hearts to connect and attach with our children, and we need our minds to strategize, limit set, and share conversations.
