Video #2: Five Common Parenting Myths Debunked!
“We don’t know what we don’t know!”
Isn’t this the truth?! Often parents will say to me, “I just wish I would have known…” but of course, how can we know what we don’t know – we can’t feel bad or guilty about not knowing everything there is to know, especially when it comes to our children and parenting!
I always say “We do the best we can, with the knowledge (or tools) we have”. Fortunately, we have more knowledge accessible to us than ever before and this includes current neuroscience (brain science) and parenting research.
Donald Rumsfeld, US Department of Defense, 2002, said:
“There are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don’t know we don’t know.”
In today’s video, in this time-limited three part parenting series, I’m going to debunk five common parenting myths! Test yourself and test your partner to see what your parenting beliefs are. It’s hard to know our own blind spots!
